My nail journey began as a fun, creative outlet during high school when I first saw a TikTok video and decided to try doing my own nails. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a huge passion. As a junior in high school, I began doing nails for friends and family, enjoying the process of expressing creativity through gel nails and nail art. Over time, I honed my skills, focusing on gel and builder gel nails, along with pedicures. I never thought of actually being a nail tech but with time my high school counselor Ms. Hamlin convinced me, so I enrolled in a dual-credit manicuring class through Garden City High School. This program was like a mini-cosmetology course, where I learned everything about nails and toes. I spent my afternoons at the Garden city community college, completing this course to become a licensed nail tech. By the time I graduated high school early in December 2022, I had my license in Manicuring and a strong foundation in nail care. One of my favorite things to create are medium to longer nails with 3D designs and vibrant color palettes. Nail art is my way of combining technique and creativity, and I absolutely love exploring new designs. While I’m currently pursuing a nursing degree, I’m excited that I can continue my passion for nails alongside my studies. It’s empowering to know that you can follow multiple paths and make them work together.
